Stork Craft Baby Cribs Recalled as a Result of Suffocation Risk

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) today is recalling approximately 500,000 Stork Craft Baby Cribs.

According to the CPSC, such cribs may pose a significant risk of entrapment and suffocation risk.” Specifically, the CPSC has stated that “the metal support brackets holding the mattress and mattress board in place can break, causing a dangerous gap between the mattress and crib rails.”

The cribs subject to recall were manufactured by Stork Craft Manufacturing Inc., and sold between May 2000 and November 2008, at major retailers such as J.C. Penney, Kmart and Walmart,,, and Each crib sold retailed for between $100 and $400.
