DirecTV Class Action Lawsuit: Consumers Lodge Complaints

In light of the recent announcement by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) concerning Comcast’s wrongful network management practices, another direct broadcast satellite (DBS) provider, DirecTV, has been the subject of numerous consumer complaints involving: 1) faulty satellite dish equipment; 2) reoccurring service issues, 3) excessive and abusive billing practices; and 4) early termination fees.

In fact, DirecTV was the subject of a recently filed lawsuit, whereby DirecTV failed to “tell customers they must eventually return their receivers, even if they paid hundreds of dollars for them at retail.”

A couple years prior, a separate lawsuit was filed against DirecTV, whereby it was alleged that DirecTV “had covertly reduced HDTV quality for its users.”

The PBM law-firm has recently initiated a Class Action Lawsuit against other broadband satellite providers such as HughesNet and XploreNet, alleging similar complaints by consumers. If you or someone you know is a DirecTV consumer and/or subscriber and have experienced issues involving faulty equipment and/or abusive billing practices, please contact our law-firm for a free-consultation.
